TikTok Shop does not revoke affiliate permissions based on "how many violations" you commit. It depends on the nature of the violation and cumulative points. Currently, there are three matching rules:
- Legacy violation points system: Each violation is scored by severity. When you accumulate 24 points, your affiliate permissions are permanently revoked, including showcase, product links, short video affiliate, and livestream affiliate.
- New Creator Health Rating (CHR): Starts at 200 points. Dropping to 0 points means losing affiliate permissions. Along the way, dropping to 150, 100, 50 points, etc., triggers staged restrictions.
- Severe violations: Including counterfeiting, infringement, fraudulent order brushing, promoting high-risk prohibited products, using multiple accounts to evade penalties, etc. These do not follow cumulative points; one occurrence can permanently revoke permissions.
So there is no uniform answer to "how many more violations can I get away with?" The same second violation might only deduct a few points if minor, or result in a ban if severe.
First, confirm which rules apply to your account
From late 2025 to 2026, the platform is gradually replacing the legacy points system with CHR. The switchover timing varies by region (US, Southeast Asia, etc.).
To determine how far you are from a ban, the first step is to open your creator dashboard in your region and check whether your violation record shows "violation points" or "health score." The two numbers move in opposite directions:
- Points go up; reaching 24 points triggers a ban.
- Health score goes down; reaching 0 triggers a ban.
Mixing up the two can easily lead to misjudgment.
Legacy violation points: watch for 24 points
- Scoring: Each violation is scored by severity. The platform does not publicly release a complete "which violation deducts how many points" table, and the point values for different behaviors can vary widely.
- Validity: Points generally expire 90 calendar days after issuance; in some regions, the rule is 180 days.
- Judgment standard: What really matters is the "current valid points"—whether the cumulative points within the validity period reach 24.
Based on this algorithm: if you accumulated many points in the first two months, one more serious violation in the third month could cross 24 points at once. Conversely, sporadic minor violations spaced far enough apart will have old points expire and automatically reduce.
New health score CHR: starts at 200, staged restrictions
CHR ranges from 0 to 1000, and new creators start at 200 points.

- Dropping to 150, 100, 50 points, etc.: You will face restrictions in sequence, such as being banned from posting affiliate videos, using the showcase, or livestream product links. Which threshold corresponds to which restriction depends on your region's backend instructions.
- Dropping to 0 points: You completely lose e-commerce affiliate permissions.
- Points expire after 90 days: Scores will be restored accordingly after expiration.
- You can actively gain points: Compliant affiliate orders that are fulfilled will increase your score; you can appeal misjudgments; completing the corresponding Policy Quiz can also recover some points.
Compared to the old system, CHR sets several clear warning lines before a ban, and scores can be increased. Note that new accounts start with only 200 points, just 50 points away from the first threshold of 150. When you first start affiliate marketing and haven't accumulated compliant orders, be extra careful in product selection and content creation.
Violations that can result in a ban regardless of count
The following behaviors can cause the platform to directly terminate your TikTok Shop access without gradual point deductions:
- Promoting counterfeit, infringing, or pirated products
- Serious fraud, order brushing
- Promoting high-risk prohibited or restricted products such as drugs and firearms
- Using multiple accounts to manipulate traffic, or opening new accounts to evade existing penalties
Pay special attention to the last one. After your main account is restricted, switching to another account to continue affiliate marketing is itself a situation that can result in a one-time ban, and it will also drag down the new account.
Linked accounts may face joint penalties
If a creator account has official binding, channel binding with a merchant shop or other creator accounts, or is identified by risk control as being operated in bulk by the same team or entity, there is a joint risk: if one account is banned for a severe violation, other linked accounts' affiliate permissions may also be restricted or banned.
For MCNs and small teams, you can prevent this in two ways:
- Before cooperating, check whether the other party's shop and accounts have severe violation records; do not do channel binding with high-risk accounts.
- If one account in the team has a serious problem, first find out what type of violation it is, then adjust your approach. Do not use the same tactics on another account.
How to protect your score daily
- Check products before accepting them: Confirm whether they fall under prohibited or restricted categories and whether brand authorization is complete. Infringement and prohibited products are high-frequency causes of one-time bans; it's basically too late to remedy after an incident.
- Do not repost content: Repeating the same material with a different cover will also be identified as duplicate content. See Will reposting the same material with a different cover be considered duplicate?.
- Do not exaggerate in voiceovers and titles: Claims about efficacy, price, and comparisons must be consistent with the product detail page.
- Plan your posting rhythm: There is a limit on the number of affiliate videos you can post. For daily pacing, refer to How many TikTok affiliate videos can I post per day?.
- Check your score weekly: Look at your health score or current valid points. When approaching a warning line, stop controversial products and content first.
- When you receive a violation notice, check the type first: If it's clearly a misjudgment, appeal as soon as possible; if it's a genuine violation and your region uses CHR, complete the corresponding Policy Quiz first, then slowly rebuild your score through compliant orders.
What tools can help team operations
If you are managing a creator matrix or managing affiliate partnerships for merchants, you can use tools to streamline product vetting, order fulfillment, and creator communication:
- E-commerce operation tools are in the Cross-border E-commerce category.
- Creator outreach and promotion tools are in the Overseas Promotion category.
Tool features and prices are subject to their official websites. For judgments involving platform penalties, please refer to the TikTok Shop backend and official policy pages.
